Central for solo cello (2017)

​Central is written for a premiere in the SOUND-IMAGination: Hong Kong Motions project in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, as one of the commissioned pieces by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild. It is composed to accompany a video with the same title “Central” that showcases the beautiful cityscape of Hong Kong. The music contrasts sharply with the video and explores the complex underlying relationships, interactions, as well as the harmonies and conflicts between the city, society, and us.
