...remembering Glenn for solo viola (2016)

...remembering Glenn is commissioned by violist Yu-Fang Chen, dedicated to Rita Spillman and written in memorial of our friend Glenn Richard Spillman, who impacts our life with his unconditional love and his passion for music, arts, and life. Glenn, a gentleman of kindness, generosity, and tenderness, is known for his one-of-a-kind hugs - the kind of hug that instantly heals and gives comforts, encouragements, and love; the kind of hug that reaches to your heart and expresses more than words.
 
Glenn was a talented and avid artist and an amazing teacher. His wisdom and his appetite for knowledge had impacted thousands of students throughout his 31 years of teaching career. Along with his wife, Rita Spillman, they devoted themselves into promoting arts and music. Together, they have the biggest heart for the people who are involved in such activities.
 
Glenn supported us through ups and downs in the past years as a friend, a mentor of life, and most importantly, as a family - our grandpa. It was very hard to see him go. However, we know that his love and his sprits will always, always, stay in our hearts.
 
“…懷念格倫” (...remembering Glenn)是為中提琴家陳玉芳而創作，紀念作曲家和委託者共同的朋友Glenn Richard Spillman，並獻給他的遺孀Rita Spillman作為紀念。
 
Glenn是一位善良，慷慨和溫柔的紳士。此外，他是位才華橫溢的藝術家，更是一位了不起的老師。在他31年的教學生涯中，他的智慧和對知識的渴望啟發了成千上萬的學生。退休後，他與他的妻子Rita一起致力於藝術和音樂的推廣。他的愛和無私奉獻的精神溫暖了每個與他相遇的人。僅以此曲，紀念我們的grandpa！
