Invisible Canvas for daegeum, tenor saxophone, haegeum, violin and percussion (2023)

Invisible Canvas represents the search for an eternity that exists not beyond the borders of the universe or in the unknown, but within ourselves. The music allows the unconscious mind to express itself through spontaneous imagination (with improvisation). Imagine drawing white on a blank canvas then gradually extending it beyond and even through its two-dimensional surface. The canvas, or the presenting medium, ultimately fades away, letting the white, or the focused negative space, expand indefinitely, reaching no boundary, tracing to no beginning and no end. We are left content with wherever the sound brings us to in the moment.
