Glitchdrops for video (2024)
The audio materials of Glitchdrops originated from a small semi-modular synthesizer in 2020. The music has been expanded with other effects and some granulated water sounds. The video reacts to and visualizes the characteristics of the audio, creating an intricate connection between the two senses using mirrored and distorted figures. The piece is inspired by observing scenes of raindrops - they are radically different when observed up close, as they become an exaggerated or amplified depiction of an otherwise calm experience. This is a metaphor for the current society's obsession with fast information sharing and dissemination.
