Ripple for solo violin (2021)

Ripple was written for violinist Barbora Kolářová to premiere at the Lake George Music Festival in the Summer of 2021. The music was created to convey a feeling of struggle and despair, coming out of the devastating COVID-19 Pandemic. The constantly interrupted and shuttered melodic line reflects one’s attempt to mourn, or even to shout, but unable to. The emotion flows like ripples on water, distorted and conflicted.
