flying ink, fainting light for clarinet in B-flat, violin, cello and piano (2021)
flying ink, fainting light is commissioned by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild for a project titled “Heavenly Inspiration: Hong Kong Scenic Sketches.” The music depicts the beautiful scene of Hong Kong as seen from the Peak. It paints a picture of the slow changing color one experiences during sunrise and sunset. The music has lots of tiny moving parts in its morphing texture and timbre. It represents the multi-layered complexity in the city one cannot see from far away.
