Revising stuff--there is always so much to edit. Everything needs editing, whether it be my web site, music, writings... I am almost obsessed with making things perfect. I spent quite some time editing my thesis today, and also, my bio page has been updated.

Aside from that, interviews/auditions are coming up, and I am almost nervous everyday about getting notified by doctoral programs...

Akron Symphony

We went on a school trip to the Akron Symphony yesterday. It was a 2 1/2 hours drive to Akron, south of Cleveland. We saw Jennifer Higdon, and I was delighted that she remembered me from the masterclass. The orchestra played a wonderful program that included only works from the 20th-21st centuries. It's great that I finally get to see Jennifer Higdon's On a Wire live--what a compelling piece of music.

This is my first post of the year! This year is looking to be pretty intense already. Good news came yesterday that my Saxophone Quartet (2009) will be played in Texas in March. They actually informed me last month, but had to check with their quartet because my piece "presents some challenges." First day of school, I had to deal with all these application stuff... Anyways, happy new year!
