August 23rd was a day of grieve for the people of Hong Kong, China and the entire world ---- The Manila hostage crisis... if you don't know about it. May the dead rest in peace.

Live like there is no tomorrow...

Second day of school. I LOVE Tech class. I am so excited about learning Max/MSP this semester!

I love photographing in severe situations ---- raining heavily, thick mist ---- low visibility, etc. A photographer has to actively look for pictures, because the best moment doesn't wait for you, you have to look for it. I think a photographer photographs best with his eyes, and he actively does it at all times ---- and then he picks up a camera and knows exactly what he wants.

I am all settled down, finally. My new apartment is unfurnished, so I bought bunch of new furniture. For a while, I suspected I had allergy again, but turns out that there are fleas in my apartment. So, I set some insect bombs today...

I just came back from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and will upload pictures soon.

So, I am gonna move the third times this afternoon. Meanwhile, I have been staying at a friend's house and a friend's friends' apartment... and, I met many new Chinese friends. It's a great opportunity for me to practice my Mandarin. I am really looking forwards to live in my new and huge and close-to-school apartment ---- there's three bedrooms, on-site laundry, air-conditioner...

I remembered learning frantically about chess and Go (Weiqi, 圍棋) last semester, and was gonna write a blog post about it ---- maybe later. I really wanna find someone who could play with me...

Ima be very random here... I have been thinking about getting a new laptop for so long. I have this Dell Inspiron 6400 for almost 5 years now, and I feel it is gonna die soon. The screen is shorta broken; the cable plug does not work so i can only use wi-fi; it has killed three new ac power adapter; it loads forever, and I don't wanna format it again... maybe it's time for me to get a Mac...

I also wanna get the new iPod Touch that might come out in September... TOO MUCH TO SPEND!

So, I am back from Hong Kong after over two months of vacation! I enjoyed this summer a lot. Hong Kong is my home! I will miss it a lot...

You might wonder why there are all these pictures at this composer's web site... First, I love photography. Second, I think photography has a lot in common with composition. In photography, just like in composition, I have to think about color, contrast, form, pattern, structure, f/m/background, subject (melody/motif?), theme, and last but not least, what do I want to say?

So, I am actually composing when I take pictures...
